A: The SOS Podcast Program provides the independent learner — at home or at school — with the opportunity to learn good basic organizational skills. In ten lessons that interact with The Middle School Student’s Guide to Ruling the World!, students are entertained and educated as they follow along with the chronically disorganized kids of U.B. Smart Middle School, to learn good organizational skills and strategies for success in middle school. The SOS Podcast Program is also a great way to supplement your school's in-class SOS instruction. Q: How does my student access the SOS Podcast program?

A: The SOS Podcast Program is available at www.middleschoolguide.com from any school or home computer.

Q: How many lessons are there in the SOS Podcast Program?

A: There are 10 SOS podcast lessons. Each is about 25-30 minutes.

Q:What does the SOS Podcast Program cost?

A: SOS podcast lessons are included with your purchase of the student workbook, The Middle School Student’s Guide to Ruling the World! ($10.95), available on this website.

Q: Will my student need any special equipment or computer program to listen to the podcast?

A: No. The podcasts are recorded in regular MP3 format, which plays easily on virtually every computer and portable music player. No special software is required.

Q: My son likes to use his iPod. Can the lessons be downloaded to his iPod?

A: Yes. Lessons are downloadable from this website to your student’s iPod, other MP3 player, or computer. As long as the student has a copy of The Middle School Student's Guide to Ruling the World! and a way to listen, lessons can be completed anywhere, anytime!

Q: I am a teacher. My school wants our students to get organized! Will schools have access to the SOS Podcast Program?

A: Of course!

Q: Should teachers use the Instructor's Guide and workbooks, or the podcasts and workbooks to teach SOS?

A: With the Instructor’s Guide and student workbooks (The Middle School Student's Guide to Ruling the World!), teachers have everything they need to provide an excellent SOS learning experience for students. The SOS podcasts are great way to supplement your in-class SOS program.

Q: Does the SOS Podcast Program cover the same organizational skills and strategies that are covered in the Instructor’s Guide?

A: The SOS Podcast Program contains 10 lessons, whereas the Instructor’s Guide has 16 lesson plans and loads of additional practice activities.

A: That’s easy! READ—> LISTEN—> TEACH—> PRACTICE! Students complete the assigned reading from The Middle School Student’s Guide to Ruling the World!, then listen to the SOS podcast lesson at home, in the classroom or in the computer lab, while following along in The Middle School Student’s Guide to Ruling the World! Then, you use the Instructor's Guide to teach the in-class lesson, and students complete the practice activities!
